The terms that apply when you book with Victory Lap Detailing. Written in plain English — if anything here isn't clear, just ask.
Last updated: 25 August 2026
These terms apply to work carried out by Victory Lap Detailing, a mobile car detailing business operating across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and wider Dorset. You can reach us on 07739 899 879 or at victorylapdetailinguk@gmail.com.
By booking a service with us you're agreeing to these terms. We've kept them in plain English rather than legal jargon.
Submitting the booking form is a request for a slot. Your booking is confirmed once we've come back to you and agreed the date and approximate arrival time.
We'll send you a written confirmation setting out the service, vehicle, date and location we have on file. Please check it and tell us if anything is wrong or missing.
We give each job the time it actually needs rather than stacking appointments, so arrival times are given as a window rather than to the minute.
Our services require mains electricity and a water supply at the address where the work is carried out. We can't complete the service without both.
We also need safe, legal and reasonable access to the vehicle, with enough room to work around it.
If we arrive and the work can't go ahead because power or water isn't available, the vehicle isn't accessible, or nobody is there to give us access, we'll treat it as a late cancellation and the cancellation fee in section 6 applies. Please tell us in advance if there's anything that might make access difficult.
Prices shown on our website are starting prices and vary by vehicle size. Prices for paint correction, ceramic coating, aircraft work and any vehicle in unusually poor condition are quoted individually after inspection.
Online estimates are exactly that — an estimate. The final price is the one we confirm with you before work starts. If we find something on the day that materially changes the work involved, we'll tell you and agree it with you before continuing rather than simply adding it to the bill.
Unless we've agreed otherwise in writing, payment is due on completion of the work. We accept cash, all major cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Instalment plans are available on request and must be agreed before the work begins.
Where an invoice has been issued, the following charges apply if it isn't paid:
If you're having difficulty paying, get in touch before the due date. We'd far rather agree something sensible with you than add charges.
This section applies to confirmed bookings — where we've come back to you and agreed a date, and you're booked in for that slot. A booking request we haven't yet confirmed can be withdrawn at any time at no cost.
Cancelling with more than 5 days' notice is free. No fee, no questions.
Cancelling within 5 days of your appointment means a cancellation fee applies, and the amount depends on the service you booked:
| Service booked | Cancellation fee |
|---|---|
| Deep Interior Clean | £20 |
| Deep Exterior Clean | £20 |
| Full Valet | £20 |
| Pre-Sale Detail | £20 |
| Stage 1 Paint Enhancement | £50 |
| Ceramic Coating | £50 |
Paint correction and ceramic coating carry the higher fee because they involve considerably more preparation and take a full day or more of our schedule — time we can't usually fill at short notice.
Where a booking combines services, the higher of the applicable fees applies.
If you rebook within 14 days of cancelling, we won't charge the cancellation fee. Those 14 days are the window in which you need to arrange the new appointment — the appointment itself can be for any date that suits you, however far ahead that is.
If you don't rebook within 14 days of cancelling, the fee applies. That remains the case even if you decide to book with us again at some later point.
Rescheduling rather than cancelling is simply an immediate rebooking, so there's no fee provided a new date is agreed.
Aircraft detailing and any other work quoted individually is arranged around access and availability rather than a standard slot. Cancellation terms for those jobs are set out in your written quote.
If we need to cancel or reschedule — most often because the weather makes it impossible to work safely or to a proper standard — you won't be charged anything, and we'll rearrange at a time that works for you.
We'll inspect your vehicle before starting and point out anything we notice, such as existing scratches, chips, dents, failing lacquer, previous paintwork, loose or damaged trim, or worn interior surfaces.
We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or for defects that only become visible once dirt has been removed — cleaning a car often reveals damage that was previously hidden.
Please tell us in advance about any aftermarket paint, wraps, respray work, existing damage or anything on the vehicle that needs treating with particular care.
We'll always be straight with you about what's realistically achievable. Some things cannot be corrected by detailing:
Where we think a job needs a bodyshop, a trimmer or another specialist, we'll tell you.
Please remove valuables, documents, loose change, electronics and anything personal from the vehicle before we start, and empty the boot and glovebox where you'd like them cleaned.
We take care with anything left in the vehicle, but we can't accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal items left inside it.
If you're not completely happy with the finish when we hand the keys back, tell us there and then and we'll put it right. If we can't put it right, you get your money back.
This applies to the standard of our work. It doesn't cover pre-existing damage, or defects we told you in advance we wouldn't be able to remove.
We often photograph and film the vehicles we work on and use those images on our website and social media. Registration plates are sometimes visible in them.
If you'd prefer we didn't photograph your vehicle, just tell us before we start and we won't. You can also ask us to remove an image afterwards and we will.
We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill, using professional products and methods appropriate to the surfaces we're working on.
If we damage your vehicle through our negligence, we'll put it right. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, for faults or weaknesses in the vehicle that were not reasonably apparent, or for indirect losses such as loss of use.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
We collect the details you give us when you book or enquire so that we can quote, arrange and carry out the work, and contact you about your booking. We don't sell your information to anyone.
If you'd like to know what we hold about you, or want it deleted, just ask. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Where you book as a consumer at a distance — online or over the phone — you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to start work within that period, you may be charged for work already carried out. These rights sit alongside the cancellation terms above, not instead of them.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you book is the version that applies to your booking.
If anything here needs explaining, get in touch and we'll talk it through.
